Established as one of the preeminent centers for behavioral education and treatment, Tobinworld stands out as a place of supportive learning and innovative instruction. With its main location situated in Glendale, California, Tobinworld opened its second location, Tobinworld II, in Antioch, California, over a decade ago.
Tobinworld operates as a school for students with developmental challenges or autism. Providing individuals, ages 5 through 22, with a multifaceted education, Tobinworld offers students a highly personalized, positive learning atmosphere tailored to the specific needs and challenges of each person.
Founded in 1977 by Judith Weber, Tobinworld developed to educate individuals who lack the ability to learn in a normal classroom environment. A mother of a severely autistic child herself, Judith Weber set out to create a truly distinct, school-district-supported system in which children and adults could develop, grow, and gain knowledge that would enhance their lives and create greater opportunities for the future. In more than 30 years of operation, the school?s enrollment has multiplied, necessitating the addition of qualified staff members and facilities. Tobinworld also utilizes a Rewards Store, which includes games, prizes, special food, a lounge area, and activities for students to enjoy. Rewards are granted in the form of tokens, which students earn when they display good behavior throughout the school day. Creating incentives for good behavior reflects just one way that Tobinworld sets itself apart. Tobinworld has also developed a vocational education program for students who wish to receive real-world job training with supportive surroundings and skill-building opportunities.
